Policy of Article Sharing
Policy Statement
The International Journal of Environmental and Agriculture Research (IJOEAR) supports the broad dissemination of research. This policy defines how authors and readers may share articles at different stages — from preprint to published version — while respecting the CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 license and maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record.
Preprint Policy
IJOEAR permits authors to share preprints of their work before formal submission and review.
Permitted Preprint Activities
- Post preprints on recognized preprint servers (arXiv, bioRxiv, SSRN, etc.)
- Share preprints with colleagues for feedback
- Present preprints at conferences
- Deposit preprints in institutional repositories
- Update preprint with DOI link after publication
Preprint Requirements
- Disclose preprint posting at manuscript submission
- Do not submit to multiple journals simultaneously
- Update preprint with link to published version
- Preprints do not constitute prior publication
Note: IJOEAR does not consider preprint posting as prior publication. However, authors should be aware that some preprint servers may not allow withdrawal of preprints after publication. Preprints should be updated with the DOI of the published article.
Accepted Manuscript (Postprint) Sharing
After acceptance but before final publication, authors may share the accepted manuscript under the following conditions:
| Sharing Method | Permitted | Conditions |
|---|---|---|
| Personal website | Yes | Provide link to journal; no commercial use |
| Institutional repository | Yes | Embargo period: None (immediate) |
| Academic networks (ResearchGate, Academia.edu) | Yes | Private sharing only; use DOI link after publication |
| Email to colleagues | Yes | Individual colleagues only |
Published Article (Version of Record) Sharing
Under the CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 license, the published version of record may be shared as follows:
Permitted Sharing of Published Version
- Share DOI link (https://doi.org/10.25125/...) with anyone
- Email PDF to individual colleagues for non-commercial research
- Post on personal website with link back to journal
- Deposit in institutional repository (immediate)
- Include in thesis or dissertation
- Share on closed research collaboration platforms
Prohibited Sharing of Published Version
- Posting PDF on public websites (except institutional repositories)
- Mass distribution or systematic sharing
- Commercial redistribution
- Posting on file-sharing platforms (Scribd, SlideShare, etc.)
- Removing copyright or license notices
Best Practice: Always share the DOI link rather than the PDF file. This ensures recipients access the official version of record and respects the license terms.
Repository Deposit Policy
IJOEAR supports green open access through repository deposits.
| Repository Type | Version Permitted | Embargo Period | Conditions |
|---|---|---|---|
| Institutional Repository | Version of Record | None (immediate) | Non-commercial; attribution to IJOEAR |
| Subject Repository (e.g., AgEcon) | Version of Record | None (immediate) | Non-commercial; link to IJOEAR |
| Preprint Server | Preprint only | N/A | Update with DOI after publication |
| ResearchGate/Academia.edu | Version of Record (via link) | None | Use "Full-text" option only if granted |
Repository Deposit Requirements
- Include full citation and DOI link to published article
- Include statement: "This is the Version of Record published in IJOEAR under CC BY-NC-ND 4.0"
- Do not remove any copyright or license notices
- Do not modify the published PDF
Collaborative Research Sharing
For collaborative research projects, the following sharing practices are permitted:
Share articles with research group members via private shared drives or collaboration platforms (Slack, Teams, etc.).
Share articles for journal clubs, lab meetings, and collaborative discussions.
Include published articles in grant applications and progress reports.
Share articles with students via password-protected course websites.
Embargo Period
IJOEAR does not impose any embargo period on sharing published articles.
| Sharing Activity | Embargo Period | Effective From |
|---|---|---|
| Institutional repository deposit | None (immediate) | Date of publication |
| Personal website posting | None (immediate) | Date of publication |
| Preprint update with DOI | None (immediate) | Date of publication |
| Social media sharing | None (immediate) | Date of publication |
Zero Embargo: IJOEAR believes in immediate open access. No waiting period is required for any form of permitted sharing.

Social Media & Academic Network Sharing
Guidelines for sharing IJOEAR articles on social media and academic networks:
Twitter / X
Share DOI link or article URL. Do not post full PDF.
LinkedIn
Share article link with attribution. Professional context only.
Facebook
Share DOI link. No commercial or mass distribution.
Academic Networks: On ResearchGate and Academia.edu, share the DOI link rather than uploading the PDF. Many networks allow you to add articles using their "Add from DOI" feature, which links to the official version.
