Role of a Reviewer

Peer reviewers play a critical role in maintaining the quality and integrity of scholarly publishing. As a reviewer for the International Journal of Environmental and Agriculture Research (IJOEAR), you serve as a gatekeeper of scientific quality, ensuring that only valid, original, and significant research is published.

Before Accepting a Review

Before accepting a review invitation, consider the following:

Questions to Ask Yourself

  • Do I have time to complete the review within 14 days?

  • Can I provide an objective, unbiased review?

When to Decline

Manuscript Evaluation Criteria

When evaluating a manuscript, consider the following criteria:

Briefly summarize the manuscript's research question, methods, and key findings. This demonstrates your understanding of the work.

Major Strengths

Highlight the manuscript's strongest aspects. What makes this work valuable?

Major Concerns

Identify significant issues that affect the manuscript's validity or quality. Be specific and constructive.

Minor Concerns

Note smaller issues such as typos, unclear phrasing, or formatting errors.

Recommendations

Provide specific suggestions for improvement. Be constructive, not just critical.

Overall Recommendation

Select one: Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Reject.

Confidential Comments to Editors
